Dawaer foundation is a non-governmental, not for profit, non- partisan organization established in 2015 by a team of motivated activists who build on their extensive diverse experiences to reach a democratic peaceful society respectful of human rights.

A society where youth and children are resilient and protected from violence.

MISSION

Dawaer is committed to increasing the resilience of children and youth through promoting their rights and empowering them and mobilizing their critical thinking to become responsible global citizens who are capable of expressing themselves freely and be agents of change.
Dawaer works with educational institutions, families and communities to enhance child and youth rights and freedom of expression and protect youth from violence. Dawaer also works with decision makers to lobby for laws that enhance youth and human rights.

Mrs. Rania Zaatari is a founding member of “Dawaer”, a Lebanese NGO committed to increasing the resilience of children and youth. Mrs. Zaataria has an international master's degree in business administration (MBA), a BS in Social Health and community development, a Diploma in Community Health and a European Diploma in Mediation & Negotiation. Mrs. Zaatari has been an environmental activist for several years. She has a long experience in planning and launching social and health campaigns, designing and implementing citizenship programs and non-curricular activities with children and youth. Mrs. Zaatari worked as a consultant for different local and International organization. She was a social health services manager in a foundation for 17 years. Currently, she is a communal Health Bureau Manager, a university Instructor and a National surveyor for the on-site surveys of the Primary Healthcare Accreditation.

Rouba Abo Ammo is a founding member of “Dawaer”, a Lebanese NGO committed to increasing the resilience of children and youth. Rouba has a BA in journalism. During the last 13 years, she worked in several Lebanese and Arab newspapers and websites, and covered different social issues on child rights and human rights and justice, in addition to other international political issues. In addition, she worked as a media consultant for different local and International organizations. Currently, she is a trainer on Social Media, Media Literacy and Mobile Journalism. Also, she started producing mobile videos which are published in an Arab media website, in addition to other social media platforms.

Lama El-Awad is a founding member of “Dawaer”, a Lebanese NGO committed to increasing the resilience of children and youth. Lama has a master’s degree in environmental management and has been an activist striving for the achievement of environmental and civil rights in Lebanon. Currently, she is a trainer on Child rights and peace building and advocates for issues related to human rights, gender, diversity and peace and has contributed to the launching of peace building units at the municipal level and to several campaigns aiming at influencing public policies such as the “Campaign against Child Marriage”, the “Petition and Complaint” campaign and the reform of the civic education curriculum in Lebanon.
