Partnering with UNESCO and the European Union in the framework of the regional project “NETMED YOUTH”, Kfarzabad, Qubayat and Bireh were the targeted areas for this project, which was conducted in two phases: In the first, Fifty youth were chosen and trained in media information literacy, social media content and photo and video production, and were given freedom after this training to conduct interviews of their own to assess their communities’ needs and create projects that respond to the youth priorities. This resulted in the production of leaflets that raise awareness, and in videos filmed by the youth and posted on social media that presented a better image of Akkar.
The second phase was choosing 20 of the most enthusiastic youth and training them to become trainers themselves and conduct sessions in their schools and communities.
